Q: I signed up to volunteer but haven’t received my invitation yet
Enrollment codes are being emailed throughout the months of May and June. Be sure to add this email address to your safe senders list to prevent your invitation from heading to the spam folder.
Q: How do I know if I am fully enrolled?
You are fully enrolled if:
- You clicked the link in the HiRUC Technology Test Drive invitation email and entered the enrollment code
- You then followed instructions to create your account with Azuga and chose a mileage reporting method.
- You received a welcome email from Azuga. Please ensure noreply@azuga.com is on your safe senders list to prevent heading to the spam folder.
- You completed the last step of enrollment which consists of either plugging in a device or taking your initial odometer reading using the Azuga Insight HiRUC app on your smartphone.
Q: I received my invitation, but am having trouble enrolling
HiRUC’s technology partner, Azuga, will support you with enrollment and any technical issues you encounter as a pilot participant.

Q: Is Azuga Insight part of the Hawaii DOT?
No. Azuga is a company working on behalf of HDOT to provide test drivers with a simulated experience of a road usage charge. The Azuga Insight Platform has been carefully built to provide accurate account management services for the HiRUC Demonstration so drivers can experience a road usage charge and provide their feedback.

Q: Now that I’ve enrolled, what’s next?
The Technology Test Drive runs through January 2021.
During this period:
- Drive as you usually would
- Log in and explore or update your account
- Optionally, turn on the free features as a benefit of using Azuga Insight to view Vehicle Health, Visual Trip Logs, Achievements, 2MyCar, Carbon Footprint, and Safe Zones
- Receive and review your Road Usage Report monthly (plug-in devices) or quarterly (OdoFoto)
- Respond to surveys to provide your feedback
